I have a JVC camcorder and I am looking to transfer the video to my dvdrw. I know how to convert the video files however, my question is how do I record the video onto the pc I have installed a USB driver from the web -I am not entirely sure its the right one though. When I go into Windows Movie Maker and try to set it up so that it sees that the camcorder is connected I get an error message that says too many possibilities or something like that I can't write down the exact error message because I don't have the camera with me at the moment.
I managed to get the video working using virtual dub but the problem was that first of all it was a small thumbnail of a video on the screen and when you enlarged the thumbnail, it was ridiculously pixelly. Also every 3 seconds of video amounted to a crazy amount of space Do I need codecs of some sort? Also How can I compress the video to fit on my PC
I am basically looking for a simple easy way to get the camera working on windows media maker or some kind of software where I can download the video to an AVI that will fit onto my PC and then I can take it from there. I would appreciate your help and assistance with this.
