I'd been having problems with my LITE-ON Combo SOHC-4832K for a few months. I figured it was just my PC screwing with the drive, but after a reinstallation of XP, it was still lagging (it would burn, but it took over twenty minutes before it would wake up and start burning). A few google searches always led me here, but I never even thought about upgrading the firmware until I paid more attention to one of the posts. After getting the 5232K Firmware, I followed the instructions from the sticky thread. Once I rebooted, I tested the drive and it burned right away at 52x--works perfectly!
So I just wanted to say "thanks" for the great and extremely useful help you guys have given.
(Apologies if this doesn't belong in this forum, I wasn't sure where to put it exactly.)
