Just thought I'd share

The Wal-Marts in my area (Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area) sell Memorex cd/dvd sleeves for around $5.00 per hundred (white with cellophane window) and the colored ones for around $3.50 per fifty pack. These are their regular prices. They are located on the same shelves as the recordable discs and plastic cases.

I’ve found that those sleeves tend to shed on the discs, so I advise using another brand.

Memorex means bad cheap do not know who really made them I never buy anything with the name Memorex on it.

And that brand would be?

You’re freakin’ kidding, right? These are just cheap paper envelopes that sell at other outlets for over $10. Give me a break.

Find me a good deal on Tyvek envelopes and I’ll shut up.

It’s true, anything Memorex is crap…back in the day they were a good brand but they have sold their soul.
I’ve used the Memorex sleeves and I thought that the windows were junky thin compared to the product that Rima sells.

I’ve used Memorex paper sleeves, and they are OK. The absolutely worst paper sleeves are made by Maxell (thin as tissue paper and cheap feeling). I suggest two alternatives for paper sleeves, which are better than average:

  1. Burlington PrintWorks paper sleeves that you can get at RadioShack:
  1. Paper or Tyvek Sleeves from Rima:

If you know you’re going to be using a lot of these, then getting a 1000-pack from Rima is the best deal.

One other thing, definitely stay away from the super-cheap sleeves that they almost give-away at places like Meritline. Those are as bad as the ones by Maxell, and seem like they will fall apart if you look at them too hard.

Actually if you time it right you can get 100 sleeves for $1.99 at Meritline
with free shipping but I am on there mailing list so they notify me. I know that they had that price over the 4th of July weekend with some promo code because I ordered 2 packs but I had to send in 2 orders because they only allowed 1 100 pack per order. The envelopes were kinda thin but that does not hurt anything.

Big Lots has Memorex White $4.00/100. Not great but over $2 better than the Walmart where I live.
