Just Swapped Out My AMD 64 3800+ For The x2 4400+ - Anything Else I Have To Do?

As it says above - I swapped my AMD Athlon 64 3800+ out for a AMD Athlon 64 x2 4400+ and so far my machine has been up and running ok for the past 7 hours-

Does anyone that has done this have any information or suggestions of anything additional I have to do to make this transition more successful-eh?

Go to device manager, open the “computer” entry and make sure it says: “ACPI Multiprocessor PC”. If it says “uniprocessor”, you need to update the driver. (properties, driver, update, display a list)

Yo CDan-

Did what you advised and it was set to ACPI Multiprocessor PC-eh!

Thanks for the response-

If you are not overclocking there is nothing you need to do mike, make sure you default on the clock speed and multiplier and other settings in the cmos and make sure it recognizes the new processor because you dont want to have X2 4400+ as a 3800 setting.

Yo gc-

Made sure that the bios showed all the right stuff - and as this is a HP - well the overclocking opportunities are null-eh!

Thanks for the timely advise-
