Just got Benq 1650 OEM - from Austria

Here’s my new Benq 1650 OEM, bought in Austria (where i live  ) .
Came with Nero Express bundled.
Manufactured: Dec. 05.
Firmware: BCAC.

Will post some scans later.

I brought one a few weeks ago and the front on ours looks different to my 1650 OEM,

As reported, there seem to be various faceplates…
My Benq 1655 (bulk) I bought in January looks like this one, only with 2 more logos.

The retail DW1650 I bought here in Germany has a faceplate like this (first defective (retail) drive I RMAd as well):

My retail 1640 looked like this.
So it seems we know the difference between the retail and the buld drives. (at leat the optical one).

i just got 1650 in India. looks the same as above. Firmware is BCDC. I have set it up as Sec Master. using Nero 7.0.8.2. Any thing i need to take care of before starting to write dvd’s ?

You could update your firmware to BCFC. Look for a RPC-1 version here
And you could use Nero 6. For me it’s much more stable than Nero 7.

I didn’t have the time to check my new Benq out - will post some scans within the next 2-3 days…

Not as good as the previous one, but still high quality.
Would be nice to see it without the spike at the beginning…

probably just the batch. I was getting a spike at 1.8gb on a batch of TYG02 consistently, bah. lol.
