Itunes and M4a problem/alternatives?

Hello,

Is there a good program (either free or fairly priced) other than Itunes that will let you burn M4a files to audio or at the very least convert an m4a to a wav on your hard drive?
I’d like to avoid Itunes due to that half second click/gap you hear between joining tracks (even after eliminating the 2 second gap)after burning the m4a’s or mp3’s to an audio cd.

I’ve done a search and found one or two programs that seem to do this but would like to ask here first before jumping on anything. I haven’t found anything that will burn m4a

Thanks in advance.
