Issues with DRW-24F1ST a

Hello all ppls, im new to the forum and im from Bulgaria, sorry for bad english if its bad.
Sorry if this is not the right place to post my problem.

I bought my new DVD drive ASUS DRW24f1st a.
The first time i burn a DVD (my win7) everything was perfect.
But after some days i lost the disk somewhere …
Then after some weeks i needed to burn second DVD (win7) to reinstall my pc.
The DVD (Sony DVD disk) started to burn the disk without filling the device buffer, it stays inactive while burning the DVD and the disk was unreadable.
When the first time i burned my win7 the buffer was acting normal (filled at 99%-98% while burning) and the DVD disk was perfectly burned.
Now when i try to burn something on DVD the device buffer allways stays inactive whole time and the disk is unreadable by any DVD drive (important to know that, all info i want to burn on DVD is burning like normal burning but with empty buffer and when process is finished the DVD is unreadable, even when i put it in the drive it recognise it as Blank DVD.
I thought it may be something wrong with my pc and i connected the drive to other pc wich is working perfectly - same issue as before (empty buffer and unreadable DVD).
I decide to try to burn some CD disk - the buffer was filled at 99%-98% while burning.
I think this is happening only on DVD disk’s …
I changed the DVD disk’s from Sony to Emtec - strange happening …
The drive burning the disk with empty device buffer but after that the disk is readable and looks like all info is recordered normally.
Thanks to ppls from this forum i successful did rewrite the firmware of my drive but the problem is still here, the buffer is inactive…
Itried with other nero versions, (basicly im using Nero Express 6.6.0.16) the newest one and still same issue with the buffer …
Is there someone who have same problem and i hope someone who can tell some way to fix this …
Looks like the problem is not in the firmware, the sata cable, the pc, power supply etc.
For now i can burn DVD (only Emtec) but i am worry about the buffer, and also i forgot to say about the speed of burning process.
If i choose to burn at 8x the drive starts to burn with 8x, then after half of a min. the drive going slow and slower … then after 1-2 seconds the drive speeds up to 8x, then after about 5 seconds again going slower and slower and the process is repeating untill the burn process is finished. The DVD is readable . :?
The Nero doesnt says about any wrong or issue about burn process and after that.
Im trying to connect with the ppls from the same store (emag.bg) i bought the drive to tell them the problem and give me new drive but they dont respond :frowning:
And im trying somehow to fix this problem, looks like it wont be possible to fix it but i hope some guy to give me some advice or what i should do from now on.

I will be very thankfull to you guys
CHEERS

Try to burn a disc with ImgBurn (a separate program) and please post the log from whatever burns you attempt.

…After looking at your ImgBurn log, I notice you’re using a disc image from a questionable site. Because of this, I’m afraid we cannot directly assist you with the issue any further. (It violates the rules of the forum to help with material that may have been shared online without permission of the copyright holder.)

A quick bit of advice on the issue before I close the thread:

  1. You are using software that creates a virtual drive. Very often, using such software causes issues. You may have to do a full, clean OS installation to remove it, which may end up helping (even though you said the issue happens on another computer).
  2. Make sure you do not always use DVD+RW, as rewritable media wears out very early.
  3. Stick with ImgBurn and see if it helps.
  4. Read around the forum. Other people may have had a similar problem, just with different drives.

Otherwise, good luck with this issue, and if you ever have another problem that we can help with, don’t hesitate to ask.
