Is this IBM DVD-R any good? I’ve never seen before. ^^

The country of origin is mentioned on the disc.
Looks like Made in China (can’t see it clearly though). If it is, it’s not good.
Most Made in China or Made in Hong Kong media is bad. There are exceptions to this rule (but those are rare).

Could you post the media code and the hub codes?

#3

yes it’s made in China
the hub codes is “DVD-R 8X 4T”

It’s almost certainly AML 002. I bought a 25pack Nexxtech spindle with that exact same hub code. If the price is right, it’s a worthwhile buy. My 25 pack spindles were 3.99$ a peice at Circuit City.

The unfortunate thing is that it can be very burner dependant. My Optiarc and LG burn this quite poorly, while my Liteon and Benq burns are decent to say the least.

nope~~my disc is -R, +R is not available in this kind of disc.
and the manufacture is in Shanghai.

Okay then it’s likely to be UME01, which is very similar in quality and performance, but -R. Both AML 002 and UME01 have the hub code DVD+/-R 8x 4T
