It seems really cheap…is there a catch to this? I’m mostly getting a dvd burner so I can free up space by burning stuff to dvd i.e. anime. I’m completely new to dvd burners, so i know next to nothing. The site says it’s 16x for DVD+RW and DVD-RW and 4x for DVD+R and DVD-R. What’s the difference b/t R and RW? I’m assuming for someone like me who only wants to use the burner for simple things - or + won’t matter. Also, I’m a bit confused. On the site it says the burner is DVD-ROM 40X CD-R 24X CD-RW 40X CD-ROM 2M. Does this mean it can read and write DVD’s AND CD’s?!
- Yes, it’s really that good.
- I think you got the speeds backwards, it’s 16x for DVD-R and DVD+R, and 4x for DVD-RW and DVD+RW. RW means Re-Writable, so you can keep burning things to the disc over and over… Not a good choice for one-time storage, and not cost effective, either.

that’s a good price. you should have no problems with that burner
