Is there software to fix frame skipping or choppy vid?

I have a vid but it skips frames and is chopy , not too bad but hust enuff to be annoying…is there a software that can recompile the vid and help smooth out the chopiness…

any info welcomed.

if this is not in proper forum please advise.

Do you mean an analogue “vid” (ie VHS) or a DVD-Video?

it’s an avi file and i guess it was encoded improperly its like there is a skip in between frames…

Might have been encoded as a packed bitstream or some other MPEG4 addition.

You can run it through MPEG4 Modifier and see whether the output file is better…

this is what i see when i opened it up with this mpeg program and clicked on info

Packed bitstream: No
QPel: No
Interlaced: No
Aspect ratio: Invalid aspect_ratio setting
Quant type: H.263

I-VOPs: 1105 (0.68%)
P-VOPs: 162034 (99.32%)
B-VOPs: 0 (0.00%)
S-VOPs: 0 (0.00%)
N-VOPs: 0 (0.00%)

i tried to save it to another aspect ratio but it still skips…gspot tells me i have codecs installed on my pc

any toughts?

Seems to be an video for mobile devices.

wow this is weird…i am trying a convert with avi2dvd just to see if i would be lucky and get the chopiness fixed…i guess the coder had no clue as to what he was doing when he encoded this vid…
