Is the Samsung TSSTcorp SH182M picky with DVD-DLs?

So I burnt some DVD-DLs with the drive. They burn without issue. However the drive then can’t see them again. My laptop reads the discs without issue. The quality of the discs might be in question (Melody - www.melodygroup.com).

Hi and Welcome!

seems you have bought el-cheapo media. Could you please post the MID (Disc Info tab in Nero CD/DVD Speed or DVD Identifier)?

At the moment, the only “peace of mind” DL media is Verbatim, preferably 2.4x, Made in Singapore. And this is valid for nearly all drives on the market.

Hi,[QUOTE=milomak;2076244]Hi

I have read that CDSpeed runs under Wine, btw.

The answer to your question: is it picky? YES.

Then almost any burner I’ve tried produces quite crap results with almost anything except Verbatim DL discs.

And some drives produce crap results even with Verbatim DL media.

DL burning isn’t and probably never will be consistently as good quality as SL burning.
