I wanted to buy a 2510A, but i can get the 2500A much cheaper. I need to know if the hacked DL capability of the 2500A is reliable and if it can be improved for better burn results in the future. Thanks in advance

hacked double layer capability ? what does this mean, a firmware which makes the drive leave less microns between data spirals ?

really if your using stock 2510 drive then your getting a dl drive that wont bitset…we have found the alot of home dvd players have issues playing non bitset dl dvd+r disks. if you dont mind using hacked software then herries would be the way to go with your 2500. ive burned dl media with my 2500 and bitset it and have had great results with the disk.

That means that the 2500A can only achieve DL ability by using hacked firmwares.

With something as easy as a firmware flash the 2500 actually has more functions then the 2510 with bitsetting… so it seems a pretty simple answer
