Is my burner DEAd? i need answer ASAP

my burner now got some problem…when it write …i set at 32x it only write at 16 and the buffer is not stable. i a m using nero 5.5.9.10 . is my burner dying? cause to burn a cd normaly it took me 3 minit now 5 minit or more…or the version of nero got problem?

are you copying on the fly? or from an image file on your hdd?
maybe you have poor quality media.
is dma selected for your writer?
I dont think your burner is dying. update nero and try different media

but it’s not my thoughts…my fren who use the same nero software …got no problem …somemore when i burning…the used buffer when dowwn to 0%

ok …i did all that still same…i think i bring my burner to my frens’s place and try it…if the same problem means i need to fix it…

i used good cds… …

how many cds can burner burn?mine alredy burned about 1000+

cd-r is TDK by RITEK …it’s a very good cd…

anyway…i bring it to my fren’s place still the same thing happen …i think the answer is dying…

That’s approx. 2,5% of the drive’s reliability.

what firware is your drive using? if it’s not the latest update it.
Also did you try with a different brand of cdr when you tried the drive at your friends place.

i already update the firmware …HD Defragment and nero update…still hte same thing even bring to my fren’s place…can;t write ans read at full speed…i tried the same medium with two diffrent cd-burner and roms…
