Is it possible to improve upon this?

Hi, I hope the log and my sig will give enough info regarding my rig. It just seems that my rip speed which is on average 5X should be quite a bit faster. I am aware the amount of compression will affect it. Would appreciate any suggestions regarding hardware or software settings. If this is not the correct forum Mods… please relocate. Thanks

Here is what I see right off the bat

Backing up DVD
Looks like size is 4.35GB

Try converting your file system from FAT32 to NTFS…FAT32 does not support these kind of files this large…NTFS will support the file sizes you are dealing with…Give that a try

Sorry for jumping in here, but i would like to correct you on this un rfjr23…A few months ago I was told that my XP Pro with HD at FAT32 would not Back Up/Read a DVDVideo over 4GBT…So being a Dissbeliever i tried it out!..Could not Put a VIDEO_TS folder of 4.3Gbt or more on my FAT32 drive as you say…So had to Format an 80Gbt into NTFS…BUT…Today I was in for a SHOCK…I had this Arguement with a friend n told him of the above n he said to me “RUBBISH M8”!!..So he pops into my House n proves to me that you CAN!!
DVD Decryptor will Rip it to a FAT32 hard disk in 1Gbt increments…Therefore you can put a whole 6.7Gbt Movie onto a FAT32 drive…I was Astonished…It works Perfectly…

Looking at your log here you are WRITING the file to a DVD not ripping it from a DVD. I don’t know if this is the right log you have posted here.

If this is the correct log and you are trying to write the file to a DVD then your log tells you everything.

I 23:09:25 Destination Media Type: DVD+R (Disc ID: RITEK-R02-01) (Speeds: 2.4x, 4x)

Your media is only rated to 4x.

If you are trying to rip to your hard drive and have posted the wrong log try again and post the right one. It may contain the info needed.

I don’t think DVD Shrink gives you a log when you rip. It just shows the transfer rate when you rip FROM the dvd. Only DVD Decrypter to my knowledge gives the burn log. That is why I mentioned my average rip rate has been 5x. I was just trying to find out if I could improve on the tranfer from dvd to HD. Thanks
