Is it possible to flash SH-S202n to 223Q?

[qanda]This thread is about the Samsung SH-S202N / TS-H652N. Click here to see full specs[/qanda]Both drives are lightscribe capable, both drives use (as far as i know) the same chipset. So in theory …

Did anybody already try this ?
Do you think it is possible ?

Please advise.

1 is SATA, the other is PATA. For that reason alone, we can infer that they use different chipsets. And this means no successful crossflashing.

There’s also a good chance that many other hardware components have been changed for the new drive, so that even lowers the possibilities.

Hi !

What about the SH-S222L ? This one is E-IDE also.

The S202N has a MediaTek MT1858LL chipset whereas the S222L most likely has a MT1868LL chipset. Still wanna try?
