1.07 v2 beta6
This firmware is based on the official NEC 2510 2.15 firmware.
It includes RPC1, riplock removal, 2100@2500, no bitsetting, DL burning support, and no speeded up media (does not allow you to burn many 4X certified discs at 8X).

1.07 v2 beta5 (Highly recommended!)
This firmware is based on the HP 520i 2.21 firmware.
It includes RPC1, riplock removal, 2100@2500, bitsetting, DL burning support, and speeded up media. (allows you to burn many 4X certified discs at 8X)

1.07 v2 beta4
This firmware is based on the HP 420i 1.27 firmware.
It includes RPC1, riplock removal, 2100@2500, bitsetting, no DL burning support and speeded up media.

the new beta 6 is based on NEC 2.15 firmware that’s what my nd-2510a uses. is it okay to use the old beta 5 that was actually made to convert 2500 to 2510a based on HP firmware in 2510a?

Yes, many people are using 107v2b5 on their 2510 drives.
You will need to flash it in DOS and your drive will then show up as a 2500.
Herrie will soon release a version that retains the 2510 ID.
