But if a drive, any drive is listed as being able to say, record at 16x with a givin media said drive should do so error free? Don’t ya think? Or is it just me? With the obviuos amount of knowlege and shear numbers on this site you should all make your voices heard on any “issues” you have with any drive by contacting the customer service or feedback-comment people at the companies that made them. It makes a diff. just my 2 cents.
The problem with your viewpoint is simply that it ignores variables that cannot be controlled by the drive manufacturer’s. ie; os used and it’s condition, system configuration, chipset drivers used, and other software installed by the user, variations in media quality from batch to batch. all these have an effect on a drives ability to function.
