I've been moving slowly towards an HD PC. I got ATI 4550, 1080p viewsonic monitor, creative X-FI audio earlier. Soon there will be a blu ray drive, but for now...
I decided to upgrade the sound and yesterday got Logitech Z Cinema 2.1 speakers. I still can't believe they cost me $100 CAD.
My question is whether I should use USB, like logitech suggests, to have more functionality. Here I'm assuming the speakers have a built in audio card, so if I go that route, the mobo audio an the X-FI essentially become useless.
.. or is it better to not bother with extra software and just plug in through a 3.5 mm?
I'm running XP, not a media centre or smth edition.
