I am going to burn a lightscribe DVD and I was wondering if it is better to have the image in Color or B&W? The image I have is in colour, but I was thinking that if I switched to B&W and turned up the contrast, it might look better? Any ideas if this is a good idea or if this would work?

Not many Lightscribers around here. I think the most intelligent answer to the question would be “it depends”. It depends on the image itself and the media in use. There’s only so much you can do with a monochrome system that has very little contrast. I’d expect that you quickly reach a point of diminishing returns and start to lose detail as you push the contrast. There’s really only one way to sort it out, and that’s to waste a few discs and see what it does.
