IrDA Adapter

I’m planning to buy IrDA Adapter for PC to connect my PC with Siemens S55 (to download polyphone melodies, pictures from phone to PC). I can choose between between two devices - first one is connected directly to mainboard, and second one is connected to serial RS 232 port.
Which one is better? (faster, easy to find driver etc)?

Name of IrDA Adapter is TITAN IR-200S(F)
My motherboard: Microstar K7T Turbo2 6330

Thanks,

As there is no difference in speed (because IrDA is really slow), there’s no reason to choose the one or the other. The portability of the RS232 version is better, but if you want to use it for a long time, you may want to take the mainboard version, as the RS232 interface won’t be around for another 10 years or so… (ok, I admit, a IrDA isn’t really a big investment, so throwing it out after 5 years or so won’t hurt too much, I guess)…
