Click here to view full specs.[/qanda]I have an iPod Nano (2nd generation, 4GB, silver) and have just bought a charger for it. The charger has two USB sockets - one for 500mA and the other for 1200 mA. I am not sure which to use?
Since the iPod’s charging circuitry minimizes any risk of overcharging, it does not matter which port to use since the iPod’s charging circuitry shuts off the charge before the battery gets noticeably overcharged. However, you will see shorter recharging times from the 1200mA port than from the 500mA port (the 500mA port is very similar in performance to simply connecting the Nano 2G directly to a PC’s built-in USB port).
For comparison, the current Apple-branded USB power adapter has an output of 1000mA.
