I am new to the whole forum scene but I have a major problem right now with my DVD Burner. Here is the scoop as is. I am currently running Win XP Pro. I have updated the drivers with latest version of Adaptec ASPI, then I made the change of replacing the wnaspi32 file with the Nero version of the same file type and I still can not burn. I have a IOMEGA Super Format DVD Burner using DVD Shrink and Nero 6. Everytime I go to burn to a DVD-R I get an illegal media error. Can someone help me !!!!!!
Illegal media = low quality media or media that is not supported by the drive.
Try better media like ritek, Taiyo Yuden or mitsubishi/verbatim.
You may also try the latest 1.10 firmware update from here: http://www.iomega.com/software/superdvdfirmware.html
I have used Sony Media and Imation lately. Also a friend has the same burner and his works fine but he runs Win ME. I used the same media he has used and still the same error.
Hm, try the firmware upgrade first.
Also try using the M$ IDE drivers for your IDE controller instead of IDE drivers from the mainboard maker/chipset maker.
I have already installed the firmware update. The IDE drivers you are talking about how do I go about doing that?
were you able to solve the problem with your DVD burner. I have the same one.
