I just posted the article Iomega promises USB 3.0 HDDs for same price as USB 2.0.

Iomega announced it plans to help consumers adopt USB 3.0 in favor of USB 2.0 by offering the faster drives at the same price as the company’s current USB 2.0 portable HDDs.

This will be great news in 2011, 2012, 2013 or whenever Intel decides to support USB 3.0.

Even if you have to add the price of the USB3 card to the price of a USB3 external HDD. It’s still a huge performance boost compared to USB2.
Also, there is no guarantee that when Intel do offer USB3 that it will outperform the current USB3 chip from NEC, which is already integrated into many motherboards.
