I found an online store through the OSx86 project called Psystar; or http://store.psystar.com ( if anyone knowledgeable on this forum here has time would they look at their site, at what they have let me know what they think) that sells 2 computer systems; open with Mac OS & openPro with Mac OS, they appear to be PCs set up with Mac OS & one can opt to have a dual boot installed; have windows installed as well for $75.00. They have pages where one can choose/customize for CPU, video card etc.
has anyone heard of this site? or about PCs with Mac OS on them as well as windows? do computers like this work? or is having 2 operating systems on one computer adding an extra complication? or potential for major problems? I did not know it was possible to have both Mac OS & windows on a PC machine. It seems good, I would have the benefits of Mac OS & windows on one machine. Is it too good to be true? The site has a 1 yr warranty that comes standard with the machines, & for extra money extended warranties. I wonder if it ever needed repair, after its warranty is up, & it had to be taken in somewhere for repair, would the machine be able to be repaired? do most repair places only know to fix either a PC with just windows on it or a Mac with just OS installed on it?
I am looking around for a machine that can handle my photography & video editing (of which I do standard def now but may move to high def in the future) & a dual boot machine would solve the question of either Mac or PC, I would have the benefits of both. Can anyone advise me on this? would I be better off just choosing one or the other? PC with just windows & Mac with just OS? What ever I end up getting, it will be a major expense, & will not be able to afford another computer for quite awhile if ever, this will have to last me awhile. So if I would be making a major mistake getting a computer like this would someone please tell me & save me wasting alot of money on something that is bad.
