Hi, I have a computer with MSIE, and when you right-click>Save picture as, it says it is a .BMP file. Even if it is an animated GIF!
How come it is doing this. It doesn't do it in Netscape. It is on Windoes XP too.
i'm having the same problem as well. i've resorted to using netscape to do my non-.bmp saving, but if anyone has a solution, i'm all ears.

Happy to be able to help.
My IE suffers the same problem. Firefox doesnt so I dont care
When you right click a picture on the internet and save it as a .bmp is it really better quality. Because it’s a .jpg on the net?
Not exactly, because it is formatted to be a Jpeg, not a bitmap. Plus, bitmaps are much bigger files
but the file is bigger?
Jpegs are compressed bitmaps? I think.......
Yes .jpg is a compressed .bmp but do you gain quality by saving it as .bmp over a. jpg from the net?
No - imagine it this way..:You have a low quality avi file that you want to encode into mpg. You can't make it better quality by selecting 'Highest Quality', it will just do the best it can out of the code it has. If you REALLY want a bmp, just open the jpg in a image editor or ACDSee and Save As BMP
Thanks Just what I thought you can’t gain quality for free like .mp3 to .wav “impossible†I know now
