I have yet to see a clean install Chrome…there is no such thing as a Offline Chrome installer it’s all web installed. If so please give the full offline link and others can verify it. Looks like people read beyond the lines and add more then what was said. Just tried and found Chrome and it tries on first web install tries to hijack your Browser so you been proven misleading - it does hijacks your homepage. Most un-savvy users would click ok without reading.
So what is wrong with the web installer, does it install stuff you can’t find or can’t get rid of?? Also what is not “clean” in the web installer that you are so worried about?
In windows 7 Chrome offers to make itself the default browser through a checkbox, in an adware installer if offers to install and make Chrome the default browser. I have so far failed to find it hijacks anything, because hijacking is forcing changes without telling you, Chrome asks and gives you the option up front which is different. Also, do many other browsers like Firefox also not do the same on install??
I am still at a loss as to where you have found Chrome installs toolbars, and what you have found that is so dangerous that you think uninstalling Chrome is not enough and you need to reinstall Windows because of it. That just seems like lunacy to me…
