Internet Explorer 6 Public Preview

Microsoft has now officially released Internet Explorer 6 for beta testing. One of the most promising new features is cookie control, this should give users more control over their privacy, something most CD Freaks like to have.

A New Way of Browsing the Internet

The Internet Explorer 6 technologies include many new and enhanced features that bring a new and exciting online experience to Windows. It features a new look and feel, as well as innovative new capabilities, including enhanced Explorer Bars, integrated instant messaging, media playback and automatic picture resizing. Internet Explorer 6 can also help to maintain the privacy of personal information on the Web and provide fault collection that can identify potential problems that need to be fixed in future updates to the Windows Internet technologies.

Easier to Customize and Deploy

The Internet Explorer 6 technologies are also more customizable than ever before through the Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK 6), so it's easier than ever to deploy and support. Version 6 of the IEAK adds control over new features such as the Media Bar, auto image resize, and the Personal Bar.

Develop Rich Web-based Applications Quickly and Easily

Internet Explorer 6 extends the Windows platform to enable developers to build Web-based applications and develop informative content for users. Internet Explorer 6 provides enhanced support for standards-based Internet technologies and improves the ease and speed with which developers can take advantage of these technologies. Improvements to the programming model, such as enhanced DHTML features, further enrich the Windows Web development platform.

From the end user simply browsing content on the Web, to the IT administrator deploying and maintaining a rich set on Windows Internet technologies, to the Web developer creating rich Web content, Internet Explorer 6 makes the Windows Internet experience better than ever.

Internet Explorer is my favorite browser, and this version will probably beat any other browser again.
