Interference w/ RCA cable

Using a cheep 50’ RCA cable to connect camcorder to VCR picks up a radio station audio signal or something along the way like an antenna. It can be heard at low volume through the TV speaker. Would using a coax cable solve this problem?

A shielded coax should solve the problem. Do you really need a 50 foot cable? A 3-10 foot cable might solve it too.

Thanks for the reply. Yes need the 50’. In fact will probably be going to 75’ to reach from the audio booth to video room VCR’s at church, forgoing the camcorder mic. Interesting thread on the subject, especially the last part:
