Was surfing @ cdrlabs.com while this thread caught my attention:

Pretty good results in that thread, very nice curves and pics

To bad that program seems to work with sanyo drives only and is only availible in Japanese :frowning:

Ok correct me if I am wrong but the Kodak gold did the bestā€¦big surpriseā€¦but they all seem to have errors right???

Kodak Gold ,Thatā€™s Cdr., Met, Ricoh HR 100ā€¦gave an avg 1.0 or lessā€¦ C1 errorsā€¦

No perfect burnsā€¦would be nice to see burn speedā€¦was it the same file each time

what about comparison to 24102B or 40125S or plex etcā€¦

is this typical of all cdrw???

more info would be great

TY 40X baby. Many discs burned, 0% errors.

tazdevlā€¦what are you using to read and check for errors ā€¦the Liteon 48125W or a cdrom/dvdromā€¦

Both (See Rig) and a LG OEM CDROM. I was surprised as you are to find no errors on all 3. Then again, it gets back to what I was saying beforeā€¦ I think anything after the 32X LiteOn is very picky about mediaā€¦ and the 48125W will write perfectly to perfect mediaā€¦ if it isnā€™t perfect, youā€™re going to get errors.

And the download link is an evaluation copy that can test 10 full discs only (allows to test only the first 10 min. from disc 11 onward).

ā€œAllā€ CD-R discs have C1 errors when written.

A good disc should have below an average og 2.0 C1 errors and of course none C2 errors.

And look at the minute curve!! Seems like only 5 minutes of the disc is tested? Or is it just me? :stuck_out_tongue:

Itā€™s normally against the end that the discs get problems.

And the link to the program:
http://www.digital-sanyo.com/BURN-Proof/store-j/ump/function-ump.html

Unfortunately, I canā€™t read thisā€¦

Of course, one must scan the whole disc. Especially crap discs are likely to have c2 errors in the outer regions, so their scans do dot prove any writing quality.
But LiteOn must do something about the high error rates with Taiyo Yuden. They have already proven that 0,2 is possible.
