Old NEC burners earned a good reputation for handling poor quality and rare media quite well. They were even recommended by some smaller manufacturers for use with their media (Princo, 3A Media, etc.).

I see the speed drops at writing, but still not sure if NEC have running OPC, do anyone know it?

Im remember Liggy and Dee modified FW for the NECs, so the writing-strategies maybe the only reason for the results.

In near future I will test some other media with the NEC.

Long time ago I had an 3500, but wasn´t hat pleased, the big point for a NEC was overspeeding, NEC allowed you to burn good 4x and 8x media at higher speeds
