Of course, unless you have an SSD, the extra speed of the new SATA standard will be inconsequential for you. Also, in order to successfully migrate to the new standard, you will need to go through the process of setting up the new drivers for the SATAe card.

But, if I had any money, I would probably want to upgrade to the haswell CPU, as I tend to do a significant amount of X.264 encoding.
