Installing the latest build - error code: 1

Each time I try to install the latest Nero build, I’m getting the following error - what can I do to fix this? Thanks!

In the event this helps (I get the same error right after with NeroMCEWrapper):

In the event anyone has a solution, I get the same errors installing the latest build.

Same here trying to Install 7.7.5.1 demo. I get a raft of error messages “Unable to register nero****.dll”. I even tried registering the dll’safter the install but still no luck I get an 0x80004002 or 0x80070005 errors.

Hi Guys,
I wish I had some ideas for you. I just went through the same nightmares myself. I purchased Nero 7 UE retail (v7.5.1). I did so knowing that the thing was extremely buggy out of the box. However, I had also read that v7.7.51 was much more stable.

Knowing all of this, I set a restore point before the software ever saw my machine. Thank GOD!

I installed the software, only 7 out of the 14 or so modules. It forced me to install DX9.0c which was already on my system. Even if it was only checking… the fact that I couldn’t deselect the option manually is bad. If I unchecked the tick, the Next button would gray out. It installed and the configuration ran. I disabled ALL file associations and Nero Scout, then rebooted. Low and behold… there was Nero Scout fixed to my taskbar. Adios pal! Haven’t seen it since and it’s not running in the background.

What happened next was a complete joke. I ran the updater. It updated itself - small 5mb download. it then told me updates were available for all installed modules. Update now, cool!

I don’t know why everyone complains about a 190mb download. BFD, took about 5 minutes. The installer ran and told me it was going to uninstall the old version and restart my machine, then the installer for the new version would run, OK. Appeared typical based on my previous 3.5 years experience with Nero. Well, it uninstalled and restarted my machine. … And that was it! No more Nero… no directory or icons. What was left, a few registry keys… User error I thought, so I did the whole thing again… guess what same result… BAD Nero… Bad Ahead!

Third time is a charm, but this time I ran the update manually… this time it worked. I finally had Nero 7.7.51. Good Grief!

I test software for a living - Really. The last thing I want to do when I come home is test someone else’s for bugs.

In the end… Nero 7 can be tamed! My 7 works like 6.6. No Nero Home, Nero Media Home, Scout, Photo Crap, SIPPS or Mobile. Nero Recode would be cool if it copied all DVD’s. Copyright and DRM… like burning ROM and Express don’t do this with CD’s already… Well, I guess that’s why there is DVD Shrink.

I didn’t pay $99 or even $79 for my retail copy purchased locally. I’m happy about this and feel like I got what I paid for. Paying a little less and using a little less of Nero’s “Enhanced” features.

If you have any previous version of Nero try to do clean uninstall on that, then reboot and reinstall the Nero. @ the beginning of the installation you can see the windows with default S/N try to delete that and right your own valid S/N and keep the installation moving after finishing reboot and see if the problem gone.
