Infotool says I have NTSC Mpeg1 720x480?

I ran into problem playing a dvd backup in my old panasonic dvd player (says no play). So, It scan the disc with Infotool200. It says the video format is NTSC Mpeg1 720x480. I scan all my other dvd backups, so say NTS Mpeg2 and most say MPeg1. I was using B7T9 initally, but upgraded to B7W9 with RPC1 and speed read.

Out of frustration, I played the same dvd in my old panny again, and it played this time. So, it seems that whatever it says does not matter. Anyone know where this format data comes from, or created from? Is it the B7W9 or the RC1?

I think media format has nothing to do with the burner's firmware used. The data is simply copied on the media. Better look at the software you use to encode.

I use DVDShrink to rip and DVDDecrypter to burn. I don't think these are problems. The mistery is that some of my earlier dvd backups do show Mpeg2.

The standard DVD format is mpeg2 in different resolutions and bitrates, but mpeg1 is possible, but very limited.
