Hello -

I have always been curious about how fast DVDFab performs on different systems, OS’s, Drives, Etc. I know some of this is content/hardware dependent, but I wanted to get a general idea about how fast the Rip/Write process is for most folks.

So hear goes:

AMD Dual Core 5000+, 3 Gig o’Ram, 32b Vista
SuperMulti 16x DVD±R

On average it takes DVDFab: 8.5 mins to Rip a CD (Main Movie Copy) on the above system HP System.

Could you reply with your ‘stats’ ?

Compaq Presario

Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 (build 2600)
2.00 gigahertz AMD Athlon XP
1.5 Gig Installed Memory
320 Gig Seagate Hard Drive
LITE-ON DVDRW LH-20A1P
LITE-ON DVDRW SHM-165P6S

On average it takes DVDFab Platinum 8-15 mins to Rip a CD (Main Movie Copy) on the above system. depends on amount of compression and if its an original dvd or a re-rip of another backup.

Hi, I’m running a 3.4 gig EE P4 with 2 gig’s of PC3200 ram and XP Home. It takes me approx. 16 to17 min. to rip the average DVD, and using IMG Burn to write, about 5 to 5:20 to write. ~ Mike

The faster you burn Videos to disc the more chances you are going to have issues with that disc,…burning is not always a good thing.

I have some TY’s that have a 8x max rating but I burn at 4x :frowning: the reason for this is because
Using Nero CD Speed,…on the Disc info tab… under “Write Strategies” at 4x … not 8x even though it shows write speeds of 2.4x…4x…8x…the write strategy itself is 4x.

If I burn at 8x it plays great, picture quality is also great …BUT…when the disc is scaned it shows very high PI errors and semi high PI failures(Hundreds) with high Jidders over all Disc Quality=between 94%-96%…which may become problematic over time :frowning:

Using the write strategy that is on the disc(4x) I get not even half the PI errors and the PI Failures are just about 45-50 with low jidders over all Disc Quality=98% every burn :clap:

BUT hey it’s just my way and my $.02 cents
