Very crappy media.

Used same media, same drive, but changed the write strategy (with MCSE :bow: ), burnt at 4x… Much, much better result. :slight_smile:

Does really Infomedia = Info Smart Technology? :confused:

I know it is confuseing to many manufacturers starting with info but infosmart and infomedia are different manufacturers and some have connections with each other.

Infosmart - Crapp hongkong manufacturer - Who abuses Taiyo Yuden codes.

Infomedia - who makes dual layer and 8x and 16x Philips approved media.
Also this one is a spinoff of infodisc.

Maybe a moderator could move the tests from infosmart media to the right place ?

darn, benq rocks. here’s my scan w/maddog 16x(nec-3500ag) written at 4x.

Shows a little struggle toward the end, but still a good burn with max PIF=12.

WOPC (optimal power control) is disabled, decreasing burn time, max PIF=8, average PIF is a respectable 0.08. I am beginning to like this media.

is there a way to disable the quality writing control mechanism in the NEC3500A and yield a better burn?

Btw, did you change the burn stradegy for this media too?

Don’t know.

Yes, I used MediaCodeSpeedEdit to copy INFOMER30 strategy. This didn’t seem to change much at 12x and below, though. The main reason for using a different strategy here is to enable 16x burns.

You can get it here: http://home.arcor.de/ala42/MCSE/
It works with drives based on Mediatek and Philips chipsets (Lite-On, Samsung, BenQ) and Artec/BTC drives. No NEC if that’s what you’re interested in.

Media was pretty expensive though,paid almost 10 euro’s for the 5 pack :eek:
