Erik Deppe, author of ODC recommended 4x scanning, gives me the most usable results when compared with real-world playback behaviour.

I do not see any major differences.

#6

2x?
Ok, maybe You have got a crappy spindle of these INFOMER30:iagree:

#7

The 4x to 8x differences vary among different MIDs for me. Keep an eye on that and see if its the same for you. I do not know if perhaps the 212 has different scanning behaviour from the 112?

Sorry Peter, it appears that katraine may be right :(.
Lite-on’s hardware can burn these well and Philips may be getting the end of the stamper run from Infomedia.

I´m using the iHBS112 for scanning, and my scans with 2x of Philips branded INFOMER30 look similar to Deanwitty´s scans of HIDISC printable INFOMER30, so I wouldn´t say these Philips ara not as good as HIDISC.

Maybe the scanner makes the difference.

I had trouble with LiteOn and Samsung BD-ROMs delivering irregular ODC scan results.
Now, using the iHES112, I get reproducible results.

Inspired by Your posts and scans (Thank You!;)), I´ve ordered some HIDISC printable from Japan, hope to get INFOMER30 as well.

Kind regards
Katraine

Anxious to see more scans of these Infomedia’s. They look promising, even if I won’t be using many of them. Defies logic and good sense to skimp on wide sputtering with a hub printable  :).

I keep waiting for someone to post a scan of these that’s less than very good. Have you learned anything about the technology/materials that Optodisc is using?

#20

I meant Infomedia, of course . Should have been in bed ,sleeping, and not posting with 1/2 a brain :o;)
