Impulses Embedded Into Audio

Someone told me about this other type of Copy Protection in which a person takes “.imp” files and embeds it into the audio tracks. These are impulses and do not effect the actual sound of the the CD. He told me once the impulse files are embedded into the audio, that it will disrupt ripping programs because the programs recognize the impulse files and think the CD is corrupt.

Is this a type of audio watermarking?

How many different ways are you going to ask the same question? Why not ask “What do you get if you take the ‘F’ out of ‘copy protection’?”…
