ImgBurn vs Nero

Hello,
I have a problem and I haven’t been able to find anything on these forums or the Imgburn forums.
I have burned a DVD9 movie with Nero and with Imgburn, same movie. (with Verbatim DL media)

With Nero needless to say the layer break is on the wrong moment.

With Imgburn I used the guide on the Imgburn forums: “How to write DVD Video (IFO/BUP/VOB) files to a double layer disc”.
I chose a better location for the layer break. So far no problem.

But when I play them on either one of my two standalone DVD players the DVD I burned with Nero takes about 5 seconds to load and the one I burned with Imgburn takes about 1 minute to load!

What am I doing wrong here?

most likely your player does not care for the discs.

Did you use -R DL or +R DL verbs?

What is the make and model of your player.

I don’t think that’s the case. I tried the disks on 2 different players, same result. Plus the disk I burned with Nero loads normal. Same disk.

Did you use -R DL or +R DL verbs?

Verbatim DVD+R DL Disc ID: MKM-003-00

What is the make and model of your player.

1.Philips DVD player DVP 5980
2.Sony DVD recorder RDR-HX925

Your drive may perform better (give you a higher quality burn - thus making it more readable) using the ‘Incremental’ write type rather than ‘DAO/SAO’. You can change that option in the settings.

Also, maybe try the MKM-001s - they seem to have the best dye.
