Illegal Disk, Nero 6, and Undetectable after 'burn'

I have never had this issue with Nero 6 and my DVD burner/DVD+RW combo before. I have burned successful data, video, and music discs. All of a sudden Nero gave me the “Illegal disc” error on a brand new disk. I have tried this a few times and to no avail. I updated my writer’s firmware and tried again with simulation (so I wouldn’t ruin any more DVDs) and got the same error:

The disks have a very small ring of data on them, and then become unrecognizable by my computer, DVDInfoPro, Alcohol 120%, and DVD Identifier. I cannot erase these disks using any of the software I just listed (including ignoring illegal TOC in Alcohol). They all say there is no media in the drive, when in fact there is.

The only thing I have had issues with is my DVD region. On DVDInfoPro it says my region is unset, but on my DVD burner properties in Device Manager it says it is set at region 1. I have messed with this before because it wouldn’t accept a DVD because of the region before, so I changed it to region 1.

I have an Optorite DD0405 burner with the latest firmware, and have DVD+RW disks that have successfully burned in the past 2 weeks. I have also tried to go back to the version of Nero that came with my burner, and this was unsuccessful. Right now I have version 6.3.0.3 of Nero and version 4.3.0.5 of InCD.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Another sidenote, I just burned a DVD-video using Pinnacle Studio 9, and it burned successfully, so I know that it is not the disk, nor is it the burner. It MUST be Nero, then. Someone please help me!

I just downloaded Deep Burner and attempted to burn, and it also gave me a ‘medium’ error. I don’t understand how I am all of a sudden unable to burn DVDs when I’ve been using the same discs and software. Someone please help me
