Welcome to CDFreaks, Try to use DVD+R disc or use the program called “ImagBurn” which is free for burning see if you get better result.

#3

Your burner is a rebadged NEC ND1300 which is getting long in the tooth.

You seem to be using the latest official firmware so I’d guess that it just doesn’t like those particular discs, which is quite odd really.

If this has just happened with this latest batch then maybe you should try to find some 4x media or some +R as already suggested but only 4x or 8x.

#4

ASPI not installed message I found in Nero Tool kit (I think) does that mean anything???
Image Burn…2 weeks ago sucessfully burnt 6 TDK dvd-r…now it hates me 2…Hot Burn Pro hates me, nero hates me, Alcohol ran out on me, my hubbie is still here though and he luv’s me…he hates my computer though…

#5

Since you have problem with all these programs if I were you I would consider reformatting my hard drive and start fresh installing only those programs that I need @ minimum to do the job.

#6

So the last successful burns were with TDK -R media and now you have problems with Verbatim -R media.
Well these are not the same discs by any means so I’d suggest that it just doesn’t like these latest Verbs so try something else as I suggested earlier.

And if hubby loves you so much convince him to buy you a new burner and then you’ll have less problems like this. With an old burner finding suitable media is going to get increasingly more difficult.

#7

Thanks for allyour help guys…you wouldn’t believe it…
Nero in its wisdom now LOVES…el cheapo “Ridata”…8 sucessful burns with Ridata…but only after burning to the hard drive with decrypter

#8

You might want to check those disks in a few months time as some Ritek/Ridisc/Ridata media can be prone to early deterioration.

#9

once a burner gets over 3 years old it’s pretty much a liability

those verbatim disks are worth more than the burner

considering time wasted and good media wasted, kind of pointless to even attempt
to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear
