iHBS212: What Does BD Life Record Count Mean? Just Curious

Does it mean that once reached no more recording? You’ll see from this partial IMGBurn log what I mean (near bottom):

BD Life Record Count: 140 - AFAIK, it’s total count of burned BD discs - both failed and successful.

BD Record Count: 39 - don’t even know what is it and want to know it as well…

I am guessing that the drive is able to store some usage data, and IMGBurn will display them.

I 18:27:03 CD/DVD Life Record Count: 273 - CD/DVD Record Count: 18
I 18:27:03 BD Life Record Count: 77 - BD Record Count: 4

I am also sure that with this installation I haven t burned 77 BD/CD/DVD’s

Yes I think it’s just a running record of how many have been done, although not too sure about that second record count following it. I’ve done 2 this morning and now it says:

I 11:58:47 BD Life Record Count: 142 - BD Record Count: 39

Also, IIRC, ImgBurn displays this data (for CD/DVD) even for quite old drives like iHAS220 6…

This info is also available on my ASUS DRW-22B2ST

I 18:38:37 CD/DVD Life Record Count: 649 - CD/DVD Record Count: 26
