The iHAS424-98 B DVD-RW Driver that came with the computer evidently was replaced by a Windows 7 upgrade and now it will not recognize any type of DVDs. It will recognize CDs but not DVDs.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the iHAS424 B from LITEON’S website, but even they could not fix the problem.

MY COMPUTER lists the drive as DVD RW Drive, (which it is supposed to be.)

Device Manager lists the Drive as DVD/CD-ROM drives.
Right Click on Drive PROPERTIES LIST:
General as DVD/CD-ROM drives.
Driver File is windows\system32\DRIVERS\cdrom.sys.
Details -Device description: CD-ROM Drive.

Microsoft iHAS424 Driver evidently believes that the drive is CD only.

Is there an original driver file that will fix the problem I’m having and return the drive back to its original DVD RW Drive format?

Every where I have looked I keep running into places that would like $29-$30 just for a simple file.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

You must have a program that will play a DVD, or rip a DVD or burn a DVD.
