I recently got this drive as a replacement for an iHAS 124-19b.
I want to use it for burning x360 games, but the default firmware only allows for a minimum 4x burning speed, wereas i need 2.4x.

Heres a pic of the drive info:

No matter what i try i cant get a copy of the firmware anywhere, and no programs want to read the firmware either.
Although im not an expert,i do know what im doing but if im making a mistake id love to be put on the right track.

I should mention that i want to use it for backups and not for piracy. My kids keep wrecking my originals so i really need this.

If someone can get a copy of the stock firmware id be very greatful.

Your drive is an ‘E’ series drive. The firmware you’ve got is the latest available as far as I know.

The firmware can be probably dumped using Dosflash, and it is possible to extract the firmware from the official flasher anyway, but there’s no point to do so, because there are no tools that you can use to patch these drives, and reducing the burn speed the way you want to is just not possible.

Thank you for your reply.
I took a look at that link and im feeling less worried about the drive now.
I actually have some MKM003’s on the way,so hopefully it all turns out good.
Thanks again.
