iHAP622 and iHAS622

Engadget China seemed to have caught a glimpse of LiteOn’s new 22x DVD burners (at Computex), slated to be available in 3Q08.

Thanks KTL. :flower:

Let’s hope it burns more media at 22x than the Samsung S223.

With the Wind’s help… :cool:

It seems like the iHA*-series is following the 20A3*-series design, which is a good thing. :iagree:

good,how much

finally something has come of the smarterase feature :slight_smile:

Just a noob question … what is supposed to do the smarterase function ?

Tnx and sorry if it’s a silly question

:wink: :smiley: :flower:

Gyxx

It’s a disc erasing tool, that has been an option on the later smartburn software, but no drive up to now has supported it.

I sense them about to make an appearance very soon.

So you can erase… RW discs? Any disc (destroying data on a +R / -R disc perhaps)? Or do you need some special discs (in which case I feel to see the point)?

Its a permanent erase of a regular +/- disc. I believe it writes over the data currently written to make the disc unreadable.

Looks like new monikers for 22x drives. More info here.

i hope they will arrive germany as soon as possible!
does anybody know an official date?

any news about ihas622? does it come to europe?

It appears that the ‘6’ has been renamed to the ‘3’ and ‘4’ series.

The model numbers in the photo were wrong or a typo. The new models are:

iHAP322 = DH-20A8P
iHAS322 = DH-20A8S
iHAP422 = DH-20A8H
iHAS422 = DH-20A8L

Nope, the iHAS622 should support SecurDisc. Maybe Lite-On plans to release it later.

@negritude
it’s DH-22A8x.

Your iHAS422 as well as the iHAP422 and 322 series have smarterase.
The 622 series has smarterase and securdisk.
