Identifying your burner

Hiya all !!

I was just wanting to know if there was a way to find out the actual makers of a cdrw ....... whether it be a website or program

I have a BTC 4012IM and it has a firmware called 408p

This drive has backed up GTA3/MOHAA/AOW2 and many others .... so it is a fully SD2 (efm) drive

Now I know it is a rebadge ...... so if anyone knows it would be appreciated ..... the reason I guess is firmware .... BTC upgrades will probably be a no show me thinks

I read a review of the liteon 401248 ....... it has all the same stuff i.e. superlink /2 mb buffer ect / speeds ...... anyone hazzard a guess ......

Anyway ......... thanx in advance !!!!

The best way to identify your drive is to physically check it. Lite-On writers will have the model number on the drive itself:

In the top right corner you can read LTR-40125S. I don’t know if this is the case for every rebadged Lite-On drive but the VisionTek drive I have here (based on the Lite-On LTR-48125W) has the Lite-On model numbers on it.
