Quick question.. I'm looking at getting rounded IDE cables for my 3500 and hard drive.
I know from experience my 3500 only likes 80 wire IDE cable. How can I tell if the rounded cables are 80 wire? It doesn't state it anywhere.
It should state ATA 66/100/133 at least. That'll be 80-wire.
In recent times I've not seen any round ones that weren't 80 wire.
Thanks guys, that's cleared it up for me. I'm used to just getting 80 wire ribbons, didn't know if you got 40 wire rounds too.
round cables can cause crosstalk interference. 40 wire ribbons will work just as well since the drives are ata2 (33mb/sec)
