Somehow I’m not 100% sure these NAS drives are imune to data theives. If you have an NAS device, and someone manages to gain access to your network, they could begin accessing you NAS without your knowledge. I would recommend powering off ones NAS device (or simply disconnecting it from the network) when said device isn’t being used.

PS: does the data that gets transfered to/from these devices get encrypted at any point?

Nothing is 100% immune, you just more control when you have your files stored locally.

I do hope that they get encrypted, but I want be surprised if the simply transfer files from point A to point B.
