I think my Nec 2500 just died

It’s sad, but I think it’s true.
I’ve tried to burn Verbatim DVD+R 16x, EMTEC DVD+RW 4x, SONY DVD-RW 2x and none works.
The only thing it burns are cd-r.
I have already applied different firmwares but nothing seems to work.
Whenever I try to burn DVD it gives me power calibration errors.
This happens with Nero, Nero CD-DVD Speed, DVD Decrypter and ImgBurn.

What else can I do? Buy a new drive?

What is the latest firmware you’ve used?

And what do you mean by nothing works? A log from Nero or ImgBurn would be useful.

Currently, I’m using 2.0A.
When I write “Nothing works” I mean I cannot burn any dvd, either is DVD+R, DVD-RW ou DVD+RW. Only cd-r works.

Here’s some log from DVD Decrypter:

As you say , nothing works. That failure is immediate so it does look like it’s replacement time.

Hopefully you’ve had your money’s worth out of the 2510.

Sad isn’t it?
But before bin the drive try to move burner to another position in your compu or into other computer.
Make sure you use good (new) ide cable and ensure you get power connector firmly inserted.

I have tried the burner on my parents pc and the result is the same. Power calibration error rigth at the beginning.

I’m on the market for a new driver but I think I’ll try a different brand.
