Let’s see, I’ve been having problems for months now, screen freezing, skips etc…on the playback of allegedly sucessfully burned DVD’s. I bought a new drive, thinking my Pioneer might be going bad. I reset my DMA, I have the AnyDVD and CloneDvd2 now on trial (because my old burning program DVDCloner) couldn’t seem to burn movies like Wedding Crashers, Hitch etc… Well I just tried burning my copy of Wedding Crashers with AnyDVD and CloneDvD2 and I STILL got a crappy copy but with a new twist. Not only did it skip and freeze (not as much but it still did it) but the new twist is I also lost sound. I’m using a Sony DRX810UL 16x drive with an 8 X media (tyko2) or whatever it’s called and it’s been rated as good media. So what’s the deal??? After a year of trouble free burning, why am I suddenly having this problems. I have the same Dim PC as when it was burning properly, the same media source but now getting a decent copy is hit or miss. Any ideas on what it might be?
From the limited information you have provided it is assumed that your “skip and freeze†problem is caused by to use of cheap blank DVD Media (99.9% of the time “skip and freeze†is caused by cheap blank DVD Media).
Suggest using known proven high quality Taiyo Yuden Media. A reliable source of Taiyo Yuden Media is Rima.Com (http://rima.com). Locally FujiFilm or Sony is good reliable Media if the package clearly states Made In Japan and avoid (do not purchase) FujiFilm or Sony Media manufacture in any other country other than Made In Japan because the quality is unknown and consider suspect.
