  1. Yes, i dont know any other way
  2. A cable that connects directly from one system to another, using networks cards/ports.
  3. Dont think so… maybe tho…?
  4. You’ll need to make an ftp connection… refer to the link
5 Not too sure on how u mean, but to transfer songs, music, pictures etc. just FTP it over.

Check www.xbox-scene.com for an in-depth tutorial on FTP and alot of other things.

This post probably doesnt cover it so others feel free :stuck_out_tongue:

How many LAN ports does you PC have? You will need at least 2.
First LAN port is for PC to Internet
Second LAN port is for PC to XBox
With a crossover LAN cable, connect one end to 2nd PC LAN port, connect other end to XBox
On your PC, go to Control Panel, Network Connections, click “set up a home or small office network”
Click next, next
Select “This computer connects directly to the Internet”, UNLESS you are connected through a HUB then select “Other”. Click next.
Click next. Click next. Click next.Click next. Click next. You’re done
If you selected “Other”, now select “This computer connects directly to the internet or through a network hub”. Click next. Click next. Click next. Click next. Click next. Click next. You’re done
Right click whichever “LAN or High-Speed Internet” is firewalled. Click “Properties”, “Advanced” & untick “protect…”. click okay to warning.

Go to XBox and startup. Enter System options and set your IP to 192.168.0.2
Go back to PC. Right click desktop, click new, shortcut.
Type following ftp://xbox:xbox@192.168.0.2/
Give it whatever name you want
You now have a simlpe FTP connection from PC to XBox

If you need more help, FULLY explain how your PC is setup in respect to LAN ports, hub, router and will be glad to help

hi if i connect my xbox to my pc and send files to it such as games music and stuff can i still get online or will that mess up things like that just wanted to know first before doing it thanks

Hi,

No I don’t think it messes anything up at all. I was thinking of doing the same thing but I have Xbox Live so I may get banned off that if I did it.

Danny.

can i use a router to connect them both up together

#8

Hello, not to ask a silly question, but is your xbox modded?

#9

hm no i dont know how im a new b thats why im here for help

#10

Can’t do it then. You have to have your XBOX modded before you can transfer files between PC and XBOX.

#11

well what do i have to mod can u send me to a site with some helpful tips on modding the xbox thanks!

#12

A softmod would be my recommendation. Here is what you will need:

  1. An XBOX Memory Card (Not the flash memory one)

  2. An Action Replay 2 (AR2)

  3. An original first run disc of one of the following games: Splinter Cell, Mechaussault, 007: Agent Under Fire.

  4. Krayzie’s UXE Installer V2.8 that matches one of the games listed above

  5. A good FTP program on your PC (ie Flash FXP)

  6. A Cat-5 Crossover cable or router.

The last two you will need regaurdless of what mod method you use since they are a must for transferring files.

Hi to all.

I see that this is quite an old topic but i hope no one will mind me giving it a bit of life.

I have a trouble connecting to my xbox. In ftp connections i need to put session and user name(for my xbox i guess). i don’t know what to put for those two, so if anyone has any ideas i’d really appreciate it!

Cheers
